| A collection of platinum rings inlaid with yellow and rose-coloured gold, the Inlaid Series, has been launched by Jewelex Co., Ltd. in Bangkok, Thailand. The company has applied technology from Germany to produce the Inlaid Series. Yellow or rose-coloured gold is compressed into a thin layer on platinum rings. Hammering, vaporization, soldering, electrofoming, rolling or combinations of methods are used, depending on the designs, managing director, Sonny Saw said. "The Inlaid Series is targeted at younger consumers and retail prices ranges from US$ 100 to US$ 200," Mr. Saw said. The company has applied for copyright for the collection. The Inlaid Series was launched in September 1997 in Hong Kong Jewelry & Watch fair and in Thailand at the Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair. Response from buyers in United States, Europe and Asia was good, Mr. Saw said. | ![]() |
